Methodology

Deterministic checks before model confidence.

Tasfi Guard verifies what Islamic AI produces before a Muslim user sees it. The pipeline is rule based, not model based, on purpose. Unknown citations fail. Non sahih hadiths are blocked from product flow. High risk fiqh or aqeedah claims escalate to qualified human review.

The pipeline

Four deterministic steps. Each one named for what it protects.

The verifier follows the same rules in the same order on every call. No model temperature. No prompt tuning. No surprise behavior between releases.

Step 01

Parse claims

Collect explicit and inline Quran or hadith citations from the answer text. This makes every religious claim auditable before we look at sources. What is implicit becomes explicit.

Step 02

Check sources

Match references and quote spans against the approved internal source bundle. The registry decides what is real, not the model. Quote matching covers the primary translation, the Arabic text, and any approved accepted-translation candidate.

Step 03

Apply policy

Block non-sahih hadiths from product flow. Reject authority outside the four Sunni madhabs. Detect madhab flattening, fiqh overconfidence, prompt injection, source-proves-too-much overclaim, certainty guarantee language, universal-ruling overclaim, clinical-boundary mixing.

Step 04

Escalate risk

Route fiqh, aqeedah, fatwa-shaped framing, and high-uncertainty content to qualified human review. Tasfi does not decide contested matters. We name them so the Ummah's scholars can.

Boundaries

What Tasfi is allowed to say.

Allowed

Verify citation integrity, source bundle version, sahih-only hadith policy, and four-madhab scope.

Escalate

Fiqh, aqeedah, fatwa-like framing, and broad claims that require qualified human review.

Blocked

Unknown Quran references, fabricated hadiths, non-sahih narrations, and non-four-madhab authority.

Source attribution

Visible provenance for every approved bundle.

Tasfi uses Tanzil Quran Text as the approved Arabic Quran reference. The text is copied verbatim, is not modified, and is attributed to Tanzil Project with a public link to tanzil.net.

Tanzil Quran Text

Approved Arabic Uthmani Quran reference for source verification.

Attribution rule

Show source, license, and provenance in public trust evidence.

No modification

Do not change Tanzil Quran text. New sources must pass the same approval gate.
